9/29/23 Erie Canal to NYC + Amtrak

We quickly stuffed breakfast items from the hotel in our panniers and rode away to the train station. Glad we were well lit at 7 in the morning; the roadway had no shoulder for most of it and the speed limit was 40. The station was built in about 1919 and is in pretty nice shape. High ceilings and original woodwork, with mostly original layout, the station has retained its patina. Ate breakfast in the lobby and got on a train that filled up in Utica.
