54 miles - Albion to Macedon
Passed a property where someone had crocheted a bunch of sugar skulls and attached them to a tree adjacent to the canal.
We scared up many herons and continued to buck headwinds. We stopped at REI in Rochester and they adjusted my front derailleur cage and rear derailleur. Getting up early meant we faced it for a shorter time, as winds built over the day. The Rochester section of the path is quite rough in parts. Not sure if they have the same kinds of arguments city/county/state about who is supposed to maintain it as there appear to be in Buffalo.
The city has tried to improve the signage, adding Rochester specific signs, which is helpful, since the official signage is often lacking.
Took a shortcut on 31 to cut off the V between Pittsford and Fairport, then stopped in a coffee shop in Fairport, before continuing to Macedon. Stayed at the Microtel just past. Walking down 31, we ate dinner at Flahrety's. The bruschetta, will mostly be lunch for tomorrow. I found a green rubber ducky by the side of the road, which will serve as a surprise present for somebody cycling along with us at some point in time.. It rained a tiny bit as we left the restaurant, but that's the only rain we've seen.
