53 miles Buffalo to Albion
Left Buffalo around 9:30 and used the UB bike path to get to Getzville, then followed the same route we've traveled to Lockport. Being Sunday, the roads were pretty quiet. In Lockport, we stopped at the coffee shop for pastries and coffee.
The headwind was pretty strong and consistent, 10-15mph. There is supposed to be a tailwind! We took 15 min turns drafting behind one another and it was still tiring. The east wind must be an offshoot of the tropical storm coming up the east coast.
There was a canal boat called the Seneca out of Skaneateles cruising down the canal towards Lockport. We saw it again the next day, and at least one other, also from Skaneateles, within a few days. They must be rented out for trips.
We stayed in a small family owned hotel in Albion and ate at a local pizza joint. Super pleasant, quiet evening. Stowed the leftover calzone in our new Stasher bag, which worked well.
